Seafarers

Located along the iconic Yarra river, the heritage listed Goods Shed No.5 tells its own story of Melbourne. Built in 1941 for maritime trade, Mann was contracted to dismantle and catalogue every member to be reused in the new hotel construction.

Home to the last remaining original electric crane, MANN was required to install custom engineered supports to counter act any reverberations and ambiances that would affect the structure.

Working along a state body heritage consultant, MANN methodically and meticulously removed, labelled and warehoused;

· Over 2200 heritage Bluestone pavers

· 20 heritage steel trusses spanning over 23m in length.

· Drilled out over 3500 rivets

Each member has a unique custom-made steel tag, that allows a seamless logging and identification process.

Maritime environmental controls were implemented, providing comprehensive protection to the parallel river. Mann was able to deliver this project within the program dates and on budget.
