Kingsford Smith International Airport T1 Upgrade

This was a great opportunity for Mann Group to participate and work with the Bovis Lend Lease and appointed team in the exciting redevelopment of Kingsford Smith International Airport Mascot, Sydney.

The project comprised of demolition and preparation for structural upgrade and refurbishment. The program demanded 40 to 60 men during the day shift and 25 to 40 men during night shift. Mann Group site crew carried out the delicate demolition over many work fronts. Many of the delicate work fronts where in direct contact with the live networks operated by SACL, the works were carried out in and around hi speed baggage conveyor belts, sterile areas under high security all completed safely and on time. Strong involvement in all areas of the airport i.e. baggage handlers, customs, security, passengers etc were in and around the multiple work fronts, once again incident and injury free.

After the two year project with a spotless track record with the Bovis Lend Lease team, SACL (Sydney Airport Corporation Limited) contacted Mann Group to negotiate a contract to carry out demolition and make good works as principle contractor. The work contracted to Mann Group as principle contractor were completed perfectly.
